Among her philanthropic endeavors, Katie has served as a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity (1999-2008); a volunteer at St. James Soup Kitchen (2001-2008); a teaching assistant for vacation bible school at Messiah Lutheran Church (2007-2013); a past Lead Member of Stony Brook Medical Center's MICU Recruitment and Retention Council; a volunteer awareness educator at the Alzheimer's Foundation (June 2014); and a volunteer at "Flames of Hope" breast cancer awareness (August 2014).

A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) plays a crucial role in the success of a variety of medical procedures. They work in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, dentists, podiatrists, and other professionals to ensure the safe administration of anesthesia.
