Pathways branch manager Toni Morrison and Pathways Business Development Specialist Max Bennett presented the staff of United Way of Delaware County with a check for $2,500 to help purchase items for the Supplies for Scholars program.
The United Way Supplies for Scholars event allows students to shop for their own school supplies and even allows them to pick their own style of backpack. "We provided book bags and school supplies to more than 2,000 Delaware County students," said Gina Grote, United Way Vice President. "This donation from Pathways will go toward next year's Supplies for Scholars Event where we expect to help even more students."
United Way provides educational programming and services that help children achieve their potential and be successful. However, United Way in Delaware County is unique in that it directly offers necessary services like food and rent assistance.
Toni Morrison, Branch Manager of Pathways in Delaware, scheduled a drive to collect the most needed supplies for the United Way Resource Center "We are always looking for ways to support the Delaware Community," said Morrison. "We hope to overfill the Resource Center shelves so they have enough supplies to get through the holiday season."
United Way Resource Center's most needed items are toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, hygiene products (baby wash, deodorant, etc.), snack items, peanut butter and jelly, canned tuna, canned chicken, pasta, rice, ramen, and cereal. To participate in the supply drive, drop off the requested items at the Pathways Delaware branch located at 879 W. William St., Delaware, OH 43015.
